Calanara was a planet within Federation space

It was one of the first worlds that was colonized by the Vulcan race and served as a private preserve for Vulcan citizens; both past and present. The majority of Calanara was parcelled into large tracts that the planet Vulcan's government awarded to those who showed scientific or social achievement. By the northern hemisphere was a special memorial center which housed a state owned burial ground for Vulcan's honored dead. Among those interred here included the philosopher Surak whose remains were transported to Calanara following its colonization. (FASA RPG module: The Federation)
