Lieutenant Candido was the ill-fated science officer on board the USS Excalibur-A that replaced Soleta. Commenting on Candido's death, Excalibur chief of security Zak Kebron quoted William Shakespeare, saying, "Who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him?"
