The Celtic language was an ancient language from Earth and a predecessor of the English language.

In 2364, Marcus Volcinius ran a computer search on the spread of the English language and learned that it had come from a combination of Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, and Latin. (TNG novel: The Captains' Honor)
