A cemetery is a place that has been set aside for the burial of deceased individuals. Both intact bodies and cremated remains are buried in cemeteries. Cemeteries are found in a number of cultures, including Human, Bajoran, and Trill.

Woodlawn Cemetery was a notable cemetery on Earth. Located in the Bronx section of New York City, the cemetery had been the final resting place of a number of notable individuals, both human and alien. Following her death at the hands of Duras, the body of Ambassador K'Ehleyr was buried at Woodlawn. Worf finally visited the cemetery after his appointment as the Federation Ambassador to Qo'noS. (TNG novel: Diplomatic Implausibility)

Following her death in 2370, Felisa Howard was buried in a cemetery on Caldos II. Her granddaughter, Beverly Crusher, attended her funeral and watched as Felisa was buried. (TNG episode: "Sub Rosa")

After her murder at the hands of Skrain Dukat, the body of Jadzia Idaris was returned to the Trill homeworld and buried in a cemetery in the capital city. Her body was interred in a place set aside for those individuals who had been joined in life. (DS9 - Worlds of Deep Space Nine novel: Trill: Unjoined)
