The Chandir, nicknamed "Tailheads," were a sentient species from Chand Aad. Though politically nonaligned, they were frequently seen in neighboring regions of Cardassian and Federation space. In 2381, they had only just begun to be represented, and in small numbers, in Starfleet. Their cranial trunks functioned as de-facto musical instruments and modulated the pitch of their voices.
