Chaniviev was a Mantiev Colonial Association Class M planet located in the Chaniv system of The Triangle at the edge of the Alpha and Beta Quadrant. It found itself at the border of the Mantiev and Romulan sphere of influence, in close proximity of Bu'Uli Tev III. (FASA RPG module: The Triangle)

The planet was the focal point of the Chaniviev Revolution, a revolution sponsored by the Klingon who viewed the planet as little more then a testing ground for new weaponry and an occasion to gain a foothold in this sector of the Triangle. Trade with the Klingons was virtually unrestricted. Despite that fact the black market flourished into one of the most profitable in the Triangle. A wide variety of trading opportunities a bond but the risk is also equally great
