Chantal R. Zaheva was a 24th century Human woman who served in Starfleet. By the 2360s, Captain Zaheva served as the commanding officer of the Federation starship USS Brattain.

In 2367, the Brattain was trapped in a Tyken's Rift, a phenomena which nullified the energy output of a starship's warp drive and impulse engines. While the Brattain was disabled, the crew began to suffer severe REM sleep deprivation. The lack of sleep caused insanity in all crew, including Zaheva, who recorded in a log entry that her first officer, Brink, was responsible for the engines not working. Captain Zaheva was found dead on the bridge of the Brattain in her command chair with a knife in her heart. (TNG episode: "Night Terrors", ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia)
