Chile is a nation-state on the planet Earth.

In 1973, the Chilean government was overthrown in a military coup d'état, and many government supporters were imprisoned at Estadio Chile, a soccer arena in the capital city, Santiago. One of the prisoners held there was a famed songwriter and poet, Victor Jara, who attempted to lift the spirits of his fellow prisoners with song. When he refused to stop when ordered, he was beaten and eventually executed. Estadio Chile was renamed Estadio Victor Jara in 2003 in his memory.
