Clarissa Nyn was a blonde-haired human Starfleet officer in the 23rd century.

In 2268, Lieutenant commander Nyn was assigned to the USS Defiant as science officer, replacing Erin Sutherland who had transferred to the USS Kongo.

Nyn had a habit of concentrating solely on her console instruments, rather than turning to face her commanding officer, when asked to give a report. This irritated Captain Thomas Blair for the first few weeks she was aboard, but his first officer, Commander Mbugua, pointed out to him that Nyn wasn't being intentionally disrespectful. Despite this, Captain Blair found her to be "damned good at her job."

Later that year, Nyn, along with the rest of Defiant's crew, died after being caught in a spatial interphase. (VAN novel: What Judgments Come)
