Copper is a reddish-colored metallic element that can be found across the galaxy.

The Vulcans and the Romulans are among two species that have copper-based blood, which causes their blood to take on a green color. (TOS episode: "The Man Trap").

When combined with sulfur to form copper sulfate it becomes a highly poisonous powder. When the copper sulfate is mixed with water, the copper sulfate forms into blue crystals, yet still has poisonous properties. (TOS novelization: The Naked Time).
