The Cordians were a race that had established contact with the United Federation of Planets by the late 24th century.

Prior to the late 2360s, the Cordians' homeworld was the victims of repeated assaults by their Sindareen neighbors. In 2368, the Sindareen began to sue for peace with the Cordians and invited representatives from the planet to peace talks aboard the USS Enterprise-D, in orbit of Sindar. (TNG novel: Imzadi)
