For other uses, see Corsair class.

The Corsair-class was a type of flight-deck cruiser fielded by Orion military forces serving under Klingon Defense Force command in the early 25th century. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)

History[]

By the early 2370s, Pak Dorren and her resistance cell had obtained a Corsair class cruiser. It was one of the three starships that engaged the USS Rio Grande in 2371. (DS9 - Invasion! novel: Time's Enemy)

Corsair-class vessels joined several Orion war fleets that launched attacks on a number of Federation starbases in 2409. (STO - Under Siege missions: "Fleet Alert", "Fleet Transport Defense", "Starbase Fleet Defense")

Several other Corsair-class ships were part of an Orion Syndicate fleet under the command of Hassan the Undying that fought and lost a major battle against an Alpha Quadrant military vessel and a motley assortment of pirate ships in orbit of Nimbus III. (STO - Wasteland mission: "The Undying")

Corsair-class vessels were also holographically duplicated in one version of Combat Simulation 347. (STO mission: "No Win Scenario")

Nimbosian Corsair

Nimbosian pirate cruiser.

Following the defeat of Hassan and the Tal Shiar, Horace Jones gave the Alliance officer responsible for liberating Nimbus a Nimbus III pirate distress call. When triggered anywhere in the galaxy, the distress call summoned a Nimbosian Tuffli-class freighter, and a Chel Grett- and Corsair-class cruiser each. (STO - Wasteland mission: "Installation 18")

Technical data[]

Corsair-class vessels were more capable than the Dacoit-class and sometimes were refitted to improve them beyond even the capabilities of the Marauder-class. They were sometimes equipped with tachyon drones capable of draining enemy deflector shields, in lieu of conventional Orion interceptors. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
