Coyote was an Earth folk trickster. In early Native American culture, Coyote was seen as something sinister and slightly evil, a grey area between good and evil. Eventually, this distilled down to the point where Coyote became a trickster character in a series of humorous stories told to children for educational and entertainment reasons.
