Dalin

In the Cardassian language, dalin is an Cardassian officer rank title which, in translation to Federation Standard, is approximately equivalent to a lieutenant commander of comparable military or naval service organizations, such as Starfleet. The title of dalin was in use in the 24th century by the Cardassian Guard agency of the Cardassian Central Command.

Skrain Dukat held the rank of dalin in 2318, during his time of service aboard the starship Kornaire, making him the vessel's senior junior officer. (TLE - Terok Nor novel: Day of the Vipers)
