Dark Time

The Dark Time was a ten year period of democratic Klingon history.

Following the assassination of Emperor Reclaw by General K'Trelan, which ended the Klingon Second Dynasty, the Klingon Empire was ruled by an council elected by the Klingon people. The elected council was overthrown ten years later and the Klingon Third Dynasty created, although several reforms were retained. (DS9 episode: "You Are Cordially Invited...")
