Darrinbandi (or Dirranbandi) is a municipality in Australia on Earth. Dr. Galarrwuy Nayingul, curator of the Museum of the South Pacific, was originally from Darrinbandi. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

Though the novel spells the name "Darrinbani", the accepted spelling, per Wikipedia, is apparently "Dirranbandi". This may indicate multiple transliterations into English, pronunciation changes over generations, etc.
