Lieutenant Dave Galloway was a security officer that served aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk in the 2260s and 2270s.
He was part of the second landing party that visited Beta III in 2267. (TOS episode: "The Return of the Archons")
He was part of the landing party to Eminiar VII in 2267, and was (with the rest of the landing party) briefly imprisoned there. Disguised as an Eminian guard, he assisted Spock in rescuing Ambassador Robert Fox from death, and guarded the Eminian High Council while Kirk and Spock acted to end Eminiar's war with Vendikar. (TOS episode: "A Taste of Armageddon")
Shortly after, Galloway was one of the security team that was dispatched to locate Doctor McCoy after he was subjected to a large dose of cordrazine. Upon arrival in the transporter room, he discovered Lt. John Kyle unconscious on the floor. He then accompanied Captain Kirk and his landing party to the planet Gateway to search for McCoy. (TOS episode: "The City on the Edge of Forever"; TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose)
Galloway was killed by a fellow Starfleet officer, Captain Ronald Tracey on Omega IV in 2268, only to mysteriously reappear as part of the security detachment assigned to Janice Lester when she impersonated Kirk in 2269. (TOS episodes: "The Omega Glory", "Turnabout Intruder")
Galloway continued to serve aboard the Enterprise until, at least, the late 2270s. In 2277, he served as the ship's chief of security. In this year, Galloway, along with the entire Enterprise crew, except Admiral Kirk and Commander Spock, were infected by a type of bacteria that was brought aboard the ship from Marris V. Thankfully, the bacteria was treated and Galloway made a full recovery. (TOS short story: "Wild Card")
