Davy Jones (December 30, 1945February 29, 2012) was a British musician, singer and actor who lived on Earth during the 20th and 21st centuries. He was a member of the pop music group The Monkees.

While visiting the USS Enterprise in 2269, Roberta Lincoln initially wondered whether Ensign Pavel Chekov reminded her more of Paul McCartney or George Harrison. She ultimately decided that he reminded her of Jones more than anyone. (TOS novel: Assignment: Eternity)

Background[]

  • Roberta's comment regarding Chekov's resemblance to Jones is an in-joke, referring to the fact that after Walter Koenig was cast in the second season of Star Trek: The Original Series, he was made to look like Jones in order to draw in younger viewers. The ploy worked.[1]
