Dennis Russell

Dennis Russell was a male human in Starfleet in the 24th century.

He attended Starfleet Academy and graduated in 2365, along with classmate Sonya Gomez. Both he and Gomez were assigned to the engineering section aboard the USS Enterprise-D, and were both part of a small social group aboard known as the "corner office".

Russell was part of the engineering team assigned to the USS Hathaway during war game exercises in late 2365, and earned a commendation for his efforts.

In 2366, he was promoted from Ensign to Lieutenant, junior grade. Russell was killed late that year, along while seven others, when the Borg cut a section out of the Enterprise hull. (SCE eBook: Many Splendors)

Russell was portrayed by actor Carl Banks, who first appeared in TNG episode "Allegiance", and was given his last name in "Tin Man". Banks also appeared on screen numerous times after the events of "The Best of Both Worlds". Russell's first name was established in Many Splendors.

 The actor who played Ensign Russell name is Carl David Burks not Carl Banks . Russell was not killed on the Enterprise.  He was promoted to Leuitenant and Served aboard Voyager. 
   Carl David  the actor who played Dennis Russell was also the Stand-In and 2nd Unit Photo Double for Brent Spiner (Data) Season 2 through end of the series and the movies:Generations and First Contact.  He was also the Stand In for Robert Duncan McNeil (Tom Paris) on Star Trek Voyager Season 2 and 3.  The Show's producers made Ensign Russell - Lt. Russell  because Paris had a red uniform and Data wore Gold. Wearing The matching colors allowed the actor to Stand-in on one scene and then appear as a background Crew Member in other scenes.
