This article is about Deutronium. You may be looking for the similar sounding substance, Dutronium.

Deutronium was a popular fuel for various Cardassian weapons systems and some of their earlier war vessels. Eventually, new technological advances created a far lower demand for the fuel. Lazon II was rich in deutronium ore. (TNG novel: Triangle: Imzadi II)

Deutronium was the energy source for the Jupiter 2 spacecraft in the TV series Lost in Space.
Note: author Peter David also referenced dutronium (TNG novel: A Rock and a Hard Place), which was a material used for certain all-terrain landrover treads.
