Devotion was a planet located in the region of space known as The Triangle, and was also a member of the Affiliation of Outer Free Worlds.
This planet was settled by a group of Humans known as the Children of the Covenant, a splinter religious sect whose origins were on Earth. Members of the sect were against the use of advanced technology in manufacturing and agriculture. As a result, no advanced technology could be found on Devotion. Instead, settlers were each skilled craftsmen and capable of precision and detail beyond that of most Humans.
Devotion occasionally sent missionaries, known as Guilders, to both alien worlds and other Human settlements. The sect believed that Humans were created first among all other sentient beings and therefore had a responsibility to teach wisdom to other races. Due to their 'unique' philosophy, Humans from Devotion were often unpopular with aliens. (FASA reference book The Triangle)
