Class diplopoda is a scientific designation for multisegmented arthropod animals with doubled pairs of legs on their numerous body segments, among them the Earth and Ferenginar millipedes.

Species of diplopoda lived on the planet Marius IV. At some point prior to 2268, Katalya Tremain wrote a book on them which was regarded by Spock to be groundbreaking in the field of biology. (TOS novel: Vulcan!)
