A disruptor pistol was a type of hand-held energy weapon, commonly used by the Klingons and Romulans.

In 2254, Christopher Pike and Claire Thorn managed to capture disruptor pistols from members of a party of Klingons which were attacking them, allowing them to fight back. (EV comic: "The Flat, Gold Forever")
