Doctors Without Borders (or Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)) was a non-governmental humanitarian-aid organization, created on Earth in 1971, known for its projects in war-torn regions facing endemic disease. The organization received the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its members' continuous effort to provide medical care in acute crises, as well as raising awareness of potential humanitarian disasters. Doctors Without Borders continued to exist into the 24th century, reaching beyond Earth to other worlds.
In 2381, a delegation of Médecins Sans Frontières doctors, including Dr. Ayib Yee Pran, visited P'Jem, where a number of Vulcan and Vulcanoid survivors of the recent Borg Invasion had been evacuated to. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)
