Doran was a female Human and Jennifer Sisko's closest friend aboard the USS Saratoga. Her family's quarters were located next to the Siskos. Doran's speciality was in planetary science. (DS9 episode: "Emissary", DS9 - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Requital")

When a warp core breach threatened the safety of the ship during the Battle of Wolf 359, she was led to an escape pod by Lieutenant Hranok Zar. (DS9 episode: "Emissary")

In 2369, one of the forms that the Prophets took when communicating with Benjamin Sisko was Doran's. (DS9 episode: "Emissary", DS9 - Tales of the Dominion War short story: "Requital")

While there is no evidence to suggest otherwise, it is assumed Doran evacuated from the Saratoga safely.
