For the mirror universe counterpart, see Dorrek, son of M'Raq (mirror).

Dorrek, son of M'Raq was a male Klingon in the 24th century. He was the second son of M'Raq and Tarilla, born one turn after his elder brother, Klag.

FamilyEdit

At age four, Dorrek came in second place in a Young Warriors Bat'leth Tournament, behind his brother. The following year, Dorrek placed first.

That same year, Dorrek and Klag went to live with their great-uncle Nakri on Zakorg, who taught them to hunt. Together, the two brought down a large klongat. (GKN short story: "loDnI'pu' vavpu' je")

Sometime before 2365, Dorrek's father returned to Qo'noS, having escaped captivity in a Romulan prison. Klag, who had become head of the House of M'Raq following his father's presumed death, forbade Dorrek to see M'Raq, who had been dishonored by his captivity and who refused to try and reclaim it. Dorrek ignored Klag's wishes, creating a rift between the two of them. This rift widened after M'Raq's death, when Klag had M'Raq's right arm grafted onto his own body, replacing his own which had been lost in battle.

Klingon Defense ForceEdit

As an adult, Dorrek became an officer in the Klingon Defense Force. By 2376, Dorrek had risen to the rank of Captain, and commanded the IKS K'mpec. That year, he was given a mission of exploration and conquest to the Kavrot sector. Nine weeks into the mission, he discovered the planet Brenlek, which he easily conquered with the assistance of General Talak and his fleet. (GKN novel: A Good Day to Die)

Shortly afterwards, Dorrek joined forces with Talak in attempting to subjugate the planet San-Tarah, after Klag had given his word of honor that the Klingon Empire would not do so. Dorrek went into battle against Klag and other members of the Order of the Bat'leth, who successfully defended San-Tarah. Because of his disloyalty to his older brother, Klag expelled Dorrek from the House of M'Raq. (GKN novel: Honor Bound)

Dishonor and deathEdit

In late 2376, the K'mpec was recalled back to Qo'noS, where General Kriz stripped him of command for his actions at San-Tarah. Believing Klag responsible for this dishonor, Dorrek plotted to have his brother killed. To that end, he discovered that Rodek, Klag's second officer aboard the IKS Gorkon, was in fact Kurn, son of Mogh. Dorrek convinced Rodek that Klag had been responsible for stealing his true identity from him. Dorrek also murdered Rodek's adoptive father, Noggra, while holographically disguised as Klag. However, Rodek's challenge duel against Klag was halted by Ambassador Worf, and Dorrek's crimes discovered. He admitted his actions on the floor of the Klingon High Council, leading to his death at the hands of Chancellor Martok and the rest of the Council. (KE novel: A Burning House)
