Drovoer II was a Federation colony world located near the Cardassian border. It had a population of approximately eighty thousand, and was home to a large artists' retreat. Drovoer II was one of the worlds ceded to the Cardassian Union by the Federation-Cardassian Treaty of 2370. Its inhabitants agreed to give up their Federation citizenship and remain under Cardassian authority, and the Maquis subsequently used Drovoer II as a base for their campaigns. One such campaign involved an attempt to alter the timeline using the theories of Dr. Paul Manheim in 2373.

In an alternate timeline, Drovoer II was abandoned by its colonists following the Battle of the Border, but was never occupied by Cardassians because of its too-cold climate. (TNG - Strange New Worlds II short story: "Gods, Fate, and Fractals")

Drovoer II once again became a Federation world following the end of the Dominion War. In late 2376, the USS da Vinci was sent to Drovoer II to repair a failing seawater desalinization plant. (SCE eBook: Out of the Cocoon)
