The Eastern Salt Belt was a narrow strip of salt flats situated in the southern hemisphere of Ocampa.

The salt belt sat between two mountain ranges, the Coolfire Mountains and the Gargoth Mountains, and would have been a shallow sea prior to the planet's gradual transformation into a desert world beginning in the 14th century. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds)
