Cover to Star Trek 9 by Eddie Jones.

Edward John Jones (1935-1999), a.k.a. S. Fantoni, was a British paperback cover artist.

Eddie Jones painted several TOS first edition covers for Bantam Books under the pseudonym S. Fantoni. He also painted a large number of covers for German and Dutch translations of the Bantam releases that appeared in paperback as well as in serialized form in Terra Astra magazine.

In 1973, Jones painted a cover for the British release of Larry Niven's novel World of Ptavvs, the first story about the Slavers, a species referenced in TAS episode & novelization: The Slaver Weapon. Niven referenced the painter himself within a short story in 1979.

His paintings also graced Best of Trek fanzine paperback collections.
