El Dorado class

The El Dorado-class was a type of starship used by the Federation Starfleet in the 24th century. The El Dorado-class began as a proposed heavy frigate design that, by the turn of the 2270s decade, had a great deal of confidence from the most senior flag officers at Starfleet Command. One of the most attractive features was the robust weapons package, outgunning other heavy frigates in service at the time, including the Steamrunner-class.
