Ensign Emily Spitale was a female Starfleet engineer. Soon after transferring to the USS Enterprise-E in 2379, she was part of the Delta team under the command of Lieutenant Christine Vale which was sent to Tezwa's Nokalana Sea to destory the nadion-pulse cannon firebase located there underwater since she was deep-dive trained. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)

Two weeks later, she was having lunch with three of her shipmates in the plaza in front of the Deelatava on Tezwa when a hybrid-plasma photon charge detonated destroyed the building and vaporizing everyone in the plaza. (TNG novel: A Time to Heal)
