Lieutenant Eugene Marasco was an officer with Starfleet's Press Liaison office. In 2294 he was assigned to make sure that Admiral Caius Fesidas got home safe after drinking. At the Flag and Grog, he met James T. Kirk and recognized that Kirk was planning to save Hikaru Sulu from the Beta Prometheans. He informed his superiors at Starfleet. (TOS novel: The Fearful Summons)
