Exar's species were a humanoid species native to the planet Fornax I.

At least the one member of this species encountered by the crew of the USS Enterprise, Dr. Albar Exar, was almost 7 feet tall with an almost rectangular head, crimson skin, and jet-black hair. (TOS short story: "Ni Var")
