This article is about Epsilon Beta star system. You may be looking for Beta Epsilon star system.

Epsilon Beta (also known as Epsilon Corvis and FGC-351772) is a star system in Federation space, located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

This system's name from The Federation simply contains two Greek language letters: epsilon and beta, without any other stellar notation system's point of reference regarding its location.

History and specifics[]

The system consisted of a type G yellow star and eight planets. Treaty boundary quadrant 3 South star charts denoted it in the general vicinity of Beta Niobe, Melkot system, Puttkamer, Vendor, and the Ringworld space station. (ST reference: Star Trek Maps)

Its coordinates placed it within Starfleet Intelligence sector 2 inside the Starfleet Intelligence Tholian sector near the Tholian Assembly, Familiarity, and Starbase 19. (FASA RPG modules: The Federation, Star Fleet Intelligence Manual)

The Epsilon Beta system's orbit is the location of a number of planets, including third planet Amerind, also known as Miramanee's World, a Prime Directive protectorate of the Federation. (SCE eBook: Small World, FASA RPG module: The Federation, Last Unicorn RPG module: Star Trek: The Original Series Core Game Book)

An asteroid belt not far from the orbit of the third planet had pulverized multiple worlds in the system. (TOS - Star Trek 7 novelization: The Paradise Syndrome)

In 2268, a giant asteroid nearly the size of Luna traversed the system on a course to impact Miramanee's World. The Federation starship USS Enterprise attempted to divert the asteroid's trajectory, but failed. A Preserver obelisk on the planet's surface succeeded in deflecting it back out into the system. (TOS episode & Star Trek 7 novelization: The Paradise Syndrome)
