The United Federation of Planets Appropriations Committee (also known as the Federation Council Appropriations Committee, the Military Appropriations Committee or, for short, the Federation Appropriations Committee) is the organization within the government of the Federation that is responible for allocating funds, supplies and personnel to contracts to build starships and other essentials for the operation of Starfleet.
This committee, acting on the advice of Andorian representatives, authorized the highly-successful Loknar-class of frigate starships for border patrol and exploration service, with the first vessel completed on reference stardate 1/9010. (FASA RPG module: Federation Ship Recognition Manual)
