Her later years saw the rise of the Typhon Pact and an easing of relations between the Federation and historical enemies, particularly the Cardassians, Gorn, and Romulan Star Empire. Bacco was assassinated at the dedication ceremony for the new Deep Space 9 (II) on August 27, 2385.
