Mark Jameson (2279-2364) was a male human Starfleet officer.

Biography[]

Jameson was born in the year 2279, and joined Starfleet around the turn of the 24th century. In 2314, he was married to his wife, Anne.

By 2319, he held the rank of commander. In that year, he was assigned to negotiate for the release of Federation hostages held on Mordan IV. Jameson instead illegally supplied weapons to Karnas, the hostage-taker. He then supplied weapons to Karnas' rivals in order to maintain a balance of power, and falsified his reports to cover his violations of the Prime Directive.

By the 2320s, Jameson was a captain, and commanding officer of the USS Gettysburg. During his career, he successfully negotiated a treaty with the natives of Cerberus II.

By 2360, Jameson was confined to a wheelchair, due to his contraction of Iverson's Disease. He obtained a secret age-reversing agent from the Cerebusians to stave off the disease. However, when he was recalled to deal with a new crisis on Mordan IV in 2364, he administered an overdose of the medicine, which resulted in rapid de-aging, and then his death. He was buried on Mordan IV. (TNG episode: "Too Short a Season")

In sickbay aboard the USS Enterprise-D during Jameson's age regression, Doctor Selar studied a sample of Jameson's blood, attempting to identify the compound which made him grow younger, but she was interrupted by the appearance of Q. (NF novel: No Limits)

Legacy[]

In 2374, when Lem Faal mentioned to the Enterprise-D crew that he had Iverson's Disease, Deanna Troi suspected that they all were recalling Jameson's experienes. (TNG - The Q Continuum novel: Q-Space)

In 2381, during an argument, William T. Riker cited a long list of people who had violated the Prime Directive, citing Jameson along with John Gill, Benjamin Sisko, James T. Kirk, Ronald Tracey, and Christopher Pike. (TTN novel: Sword of Damocles)

In 2381, Christine Vale paired Jameson with Kirk, and Jean-Luc Picard with Sisko, as commanders of particular eras in Starfleet. (TTN novel: Synthesis)
