Château Picard was the name of the Picard family estate in La Barre, France on Earth and of the wine produced at the family vineyards. (TNG episode: "Family")
Château Picard dated back at least to the late 20th century and originated in Saint-Estèphe, France. (TNG novel: Collateral Damage)
During the Nazi occupation of France during World War II Château Picard was converted by the French Resistance into munitions storage and a means of communicating with the front. Extensive underground tunnels were established that led to the vineyards, with entrances hidden inside the house. When the Nazis invaded, the Resistance locked the tunnels away.
