The RIS Terix (IRC-1969) was a Romulan Star Empire starship, a D'deridex-class warbird in Romulan Imperial Fleet service in the 24th century.

History and specifications[]

The vessel was named after Terix, who served the Empire during the Earth-Romulan War. (ENT novels: Kobayashi Maru, Beneath the Raptor's Wing, To Brave the Storm)

In the year 2370, Terix was commanded by Sirol. (ST reference: The Star Trek Encyclopedia, CCG set: Q-Continuum, card: "Terix", Decipher RPG module: Starships)

In 2370, the Terix investigated reports of an illegal Federation cloaking device. The device was discovered by the crew of the USS Enterprise-D, and turned over to the Romulans in order to allieviate the potential diplomatic fallout. (TNG episode: "The Pegasus")

Federation covert agent Mackenzie Calhoun later boarded the Terix in Romulan space, in order to destroy the device. (NF - No Limits short story: "Loose Ends")

The Terix remained in active service into the 2370s decade outfitted as a battleship. (Decipher RPG module: Starships)

Later on, by the year 2379, Terix was outfitted as a dreadnought vessel. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate 2370, the Terix was the flagship of a Romulan fleet that was on the Romulan side of the Neutral Zone. She met the Federation's counterpart flagship, the USS Enterprise-D in an effort to investigate a large temporal anomaly reported in the Devron system. (TNG episode: "All Good Things...")

Background[]

No history or fate is established for this vessel in Starfleet Command III games as its name was randomly selected for a dreadnought vessel by the games' software, with different possible outcomes. The "RIS" registry prefix originates in this game. Beside namesake Terix, the vessel may also have been named for the Terix star system in ST reference: Star Charts.
