Day Kannu was a Bajoran male and a Field Colonel in the Bajoran Militia. He was also a member of the Alliance for Global Unity.
Biography[]
During the Occupation of Bajor, Day was a member of the Resistance. It was rumored that he was a member of one of the more extreme resistance cells. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "Ha'mara")
In 2369, he was in Ashalla when Benjamin Sisko and Kira Nerys became trapped in the Paths of the Lost after an explosion at the Taluno Library. Although he led the rescue efforts, Day secretly hoped that if Sisko died, the Federation would withdraw from Bajor. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "Ha'mara")
A year later, Kannu accompanied General Krim Aldos and other Miltia members as part of a team that was to take control of Deep Space 9. He refused to believe Commander Sisko's statement that the Cardassians were providing the Circle with weapons. After Krim learned of this, and the fact Day had not informed him, the General gave control of DS9 back to Sisko. Angered at the failure, Day attempted to kill Sisko, but ended up killing Li Nalas. The war hero had moved in front of Sisko as soon as Day fired. (DS9 episode: "The Siege")
In 2376, First Minister Asarem Wadeen told Krim that Colonel Day's actions amounted to betrayal. (DS9 - Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel: Bajor: Fragments and Omens)
