Skitterers or Skittering Saboteurs were a type of automated multi-legged drone used by the Elachi. These insectile machines would roam invaded territory and upon finding an enemy they would jump on them to latch on whereupon they would detonate in order to wound their target along with their surrounding allies. History[]
In 2409, several of these spider-like robots were present on Virinat where they were within the vicinity of an Elachi beacon at the Khellid Caves. Romulan colonists managed to defeat the Skitterers before taking the beacon for examination. (STO mission: "A Day on the Farm")
