Susanna Leijten was a Starfleet officer who served aboard the USS Victory with Geordi La Forge in the 2360s.

Early Career[]

Leijten, the daughter of Doris and Paul Leijten, was born in Sarasota, Florida, USA in 2332. In 2350, she entered Starfleet Academy, and by 2353, she had risen to become co-captain of the academy's track-and-field team. Upon her graduation in the 90th percentile in 2354, she was assigned to the USS Orleans as a security officer. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

In 2357, Leijten was promoted to lieutenant (j.g.) and transferred to the command division, and spent the next two years in charge of the Orleans's search-and-rescue teams. In 2359, she transferred to the USS Victory as the operations officer. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

Aboard the Victory[]

In 2360, Leijten was awarded the Starfleet Cross for Distinguished Service, after she successfully devised a method to free the Victory from a plasma streamer that fed into a black hole, by polarizing the ship's outer hull. The following year, Leijten was promoted to full lieutenant and was made senior operations officer aboard the Victory. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

In 2362, the Victory was assigned to investigate the loss of communication with a research outpost located on Tarchannen III. Leijten led a four-man away team to the surface but they were unable to find the whereabouts of any of the 49 personnel attached to the outpost. Unknown to any of the away team, they were exposed to a form an alien DNA, which had caused the outpost personnel to transform into aliens that were once native to the planet. (TNG episode: "Identity Crisis" and video game: Starship Creator)

In 2366, Leijten was promoted to lieutenant commander and was named second officer aboard the Victory. A few months later, the Victory participated in the Battle of Wolf 359 against the Borg. Thankfully, the Victory was able to escape destruction, but suffered heavy damage and lost many personnel including the ship's first officer. Due to this, Leijten was appointed acting first officer and was assigned to oversee the Victory's refit. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

Return to Tarchannen III[]

In 2367, two members of the Victory's away team to Tarchannen III disappeared and were found to have returned to the planet. In order to investigate the disappearences, Leijten boarded the USS Enterprise-D, where Geordi La Forge, another member of the away team, was serving.

On arrival at Tarchannen III, Leijten began to act strangely, and refused to leave. La Forge had her to sickbay, where Dr. Beverly Crusher found that she was covered with dark blotches and her hands were mutating. The alien DNA had began to change Leijten into an alien lifeform, but she was saved from completely transforming by Dr. Crusher. After recovering, she helped the Enterprise crew to rescue La Forge, who had also mutated and returned to Tarchannen III. (TNG episode: "Identity Crisis")
