In 2273, T'sai presented Spock with the symbol of pure logic after he underwent the kolinahr for 2.8 years. However, Spock refused the symbol after his Human half was touched by strong emotions emanating from the V'Ger entity. T'sai melded with Spock and told him that he had to look elsewhere to find the answers he sought. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: The Motion Picture)
