The Valakian sublight ship was a spacecraft type in use by the pre-warp civilization of the Valakians in the mid-22nd century. Valakian space shuttles had a complement of two and could operate independently for at least one year. Between September and October 2151, the United Earth starship Enterprise) found a Valakian shuttle less than one light-year from Valakis. Its two occupants suffered from a plague slowly extinguishing their species. The shuttle's mission was to seek medical aid in combating the plague from warp-capable species.
