Doctor Frank Drake was an American astronomer and astrophysicist who was born in Chicago on Earth in the mid-20th century. Drake is best known for founding SETI, as well as creating the Drake equation and Arecibo Message.
After Earth Starfleet Captain Erika Hernandez and other Columbia officers stuck on the Caeliar city-ship of Axion were thrown back in time following the cataclysm that destroyed Erigol, Hernandez offered to aid Inyx in the Star Chamber to find a new suitable location for them to settle; she remarked that if the Drake equation was true, there should be millions of Minshara class planets to choose from.
