Lieutenant commander Gaius Aldus was a Magna Roman Starfleet officer who served as the first officer of the USS Centurion in the 2360s and was a close friend of the ship's captain, Lucius Sejanus.

In 2364, the Centurion was deployed to the planet Tenara to ward off raids by the M'dok Empire. Aldus was responsible for leading many of the Centurion's efforts on the ground. During these efforts, Aldus fell in love with Ensign Jenny de Luz. Eventually, Aldus discovered Sejanus's efforts to take over Tenara and Aldus confronted Sejanus. This confrontation ended when Sejanus murdered Aldus. (TNG novel: The Captains' Honor)
