Galactic survey cruiser was a starship classification in common use in the late-21st century, and was given to starships that were designed for long-range and long-duration survey missions.

The SS Valiant, a starship launched from Earth in 2065, was classified as a galactic survey cruiser. (TOS novelization: "Where No Man Has Gone Before").
