The Gamma 7 outpost was a Federation outpost near Cardassian space and the Demilitarized Zone.
In 2368, the Gamma 7 outpost was the location for the Federation's continuing peace talks with the Cardassian Union. Admiral Thomas Henry was one of the Starfleet officers there during the talks. (TNG novel: The Badlands, Part II)
In 2373, the USS Malinche was patrolling the space near the Gamma 7 outpost when it was attacked by the Maquis. (DS9 episode: "For the Uniform")
