Gan was a Bajoran and a Sergeant in the Bajoran Militia in the 2370s. Gan serves on Deep Space 9.

In 2376, Ezri Dax was giving orders to Sergeant Gan when Kira Nerys appeared in Ops, having travelled through an Iconian Gateway. Gan was surprised to see Kira. (DS9 short story: "Horn and Ivory")
