In 2254, Garrison served as the communications officer, when the Enterprise received the distress call from the SS Columbia. (TOS episodes: "The Cage", "The Menagerie")

Garrison participated in first contact with the Calligar. (TOS novel: The Rift)

In The Rift, his name was spelled "Garison" but it seemed to be the same CPO.
